Budget Hotels and Hostels in Singapore: How to Compare

A useful budget stay depends on more than the headline nightly rate. Start with the privacy you need, the room configuration, and the neighborhood; then compare the total for your dates and party size. This guide uses current details published by four named property operators. It is not a ranking, a personal stay review, or a promise that any property will meet a particular price cap. Operator pages were checked on 1 October 2026; rates, room availability, and terms change.

Quick guide by stay type

  • A capsule with shared facilities: The POD Boutique Capsule Hotel has single and queen pods, including mixed or gender-specific shared-room options. Its operator also lists private pod-suite room types; some still use shared bathrooms.
  • A capsule in Kampong Glam: CUBE Boutique Capsule Hotel at Kampong Glam lists standard capsules, a female-only capsule, and private rooms. The operator lists shared individual bathrooms.
  • A conventional hotel room near Lavender: Hotel Boss lists several room categories. Its published room details range from a 14-square-metre Standard Queen for two people to a 19-square-metre Family Balcony room for four; capacity is specific to the room category.
  • An economy hotel near Little India: ibis budget Singapore Selegie lists cabin, standard, and superior rooms, including a double-and-single configuration, and a rooftop pool. Its operator places the hotel a two-minute walk from Little India MRT.

The POD Boutique Capsule Hotel: compare pod privacy with shared-room rules

The operator lists single and queen pods, shared bathrooms, mixed and single-gender shared rooms, and a ladies-only floor. It also describes single and queen pod suites with keycard access; bathroom arrangements remain shared for these suites. Check the exact pod type, room-sharing arrangement, and bathroom setup before booking. See The POD’s room details and services.

CUBE Boutique Capsule Hotel at Kampong Glam: several capsule and private-room types

CUBE lists standard capsules, a female-only capsule, and private rooms at its Kampong Glam property. Its operator also lists shared individual bathrooms, a communal lounge, and the address at 55 Bussorah Street. Compare the room type and shared-space arrangement with your privacy needs. See the operator’s Kampong Glam property page.

Hotel Boss: check the exact room category and capacity

Hotel Boss lists several categories, including Standard Queen, Superior Twin, Triple, and Family Balcony. Its published details identify the Standard Queen as 14 square metres for two people and the Family Balcony room as 19 square metres for four. Do not apply the larger room’s capacity to other categories. The hotel is at 500 Jalan Sultan. See Hotel Boss’s current room and location information.

ibis budget Singapore Selegie: an economy-hotel option by Little India

The operator lists cabin, standard, and superior room categories, with bed configurations that vary by room. It places the hotel at 183 Selegie Road, a two-minute walk from Little India MRT, and lists a rooftop pool. Confirm the selected room’s bed configuration, occupancy, pool status, and any applicable facility terms. See the current ibis budget Singapore Selegie page.

Compare the full booking, not just the nightly figure

  1. Search with your exact dates, guest count, and ages where requested; room inventory and rates vary.
  2. Compare private versus shared sleeping space and bathroom arrangements.
  3. Check the total for the whole stay, including taxes, breakfast, cancellation terms, and any required deposits.
  4. Check the exact address and route to your daily destinations. A lower room rate can come with different travel time.
  5. Confirm check-in rules and any current closure or facility notice directly with the property.

No universal nightly-price cutoff is attached to these examples. Use your own budget as a filter on live availability and compare like-for-like room and cancellation terms. For more neighborhood options, see our Singapore budget hotels guide.
